Our new restaurant at 5222 Burnet Road is now open. We’ve had a great first week. The place looks amazing and everyone is liking the food. Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen.

THE TRAILER IS CLOSED

For those who haven’t noticed, we’ve closed the trailer on S. 1st. I really wanted to keep it open after the restaurant opened, but it became clear very quick that we don’t have the infrastructure to do both well. We’ll still have a trailer for events and catering, just not for day-to-day operations.

Thanks to everyone who supported the trailer and enjoyed eating there. We hope to see you at the restaurant. We’ll work on opening a south Austin restaurant as soon as we can.

Big news hot dogs lovers, Man Bites Dog is opening a restaurant! I just signed a lease on a restaurant space on Burnet road between Hancock and N. Loop road. The build out should take 8 or 9 weeks, so with any luck you can be eating our dogs with a roof over your head by the end of March.

This has been my goal since opening the trailer last year. It’s a huge step, but I’m ready. We’ll have more dogs, big corn dogs, fries and beer and wine. It’s going to be good times.

Gypsy Picnic

The first ever Gypsy Picnic was a big success. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us, and I apologize if we ran out of food
before you got there. Tiffany Harelik and C3 Presents did an amazing job organizing and promoting the event. The only problem was no one
expected it to be as popular as it was. On a normal day we do good to sell 100 hot dogs, but on Saturday we sold 1,000 in less than 3 hours.
After that, we ran and stripped the South 1st trailer of all its inventory and sold another 500 dogs in an hour and a half. And I’m positive that if we could have gotten our mitts on any more links we would have sold those out as well! Next year we’ll know what to expect and we’ll be ready for all our dedicated fans (and their dozens and dozens of friends!) We might even fly that handsome Ryan Gosling lookalike down to work the grill again. Thanks again to everyone who showed up and tried our stuff!
